true tears ep. 3

[ Episode 3: That Conversation You Had, How Did It Turn Out? ]

I really love this show. At this point this is leagues more enjoyable and well-written than H2O. The characters are overall more likable and believable. With this third episode this show has established itself as among the top best of the winter season. Seriously, true tears has it all in place so that it will grab your attention. The characters are all interesting and, at least for me, I haven’t found any of them annoying as of yet. There’s quite a bit going on in the story as well so early. There’s the conflict between Shinichiro and his mother about Hiromi, Noe obviously having an attachment to Shinichiro, Ai’s apparent feelings for Shinichiro, and Hiromi’s (apparent) lie about not liking Shinichiro but Noe’s brother and then running into him at the end of the episode. I thought that last scene was executed perfectly with the animation and soundtrack both still in full force since the first episode. I really want to see what happens next especially given that the preview suggests that some rather interesting stuff will be happening.

Yeah, I feel the same about the ending. As soon as I saw it, I feel you have to have been living under a rock to not understand the complications it brings. Add that to the top of the pile and you have a mile high hill of misunderstanding and frustration. At the bottom… I’d have to hope for a happy ending that ties up all the loose ends and clear up misconceptions.
