Gundam 00 ep. 7

[ Episode 7: Unrewarding Spirit ]
Being a Gundam Meister is tough business. Especially when one of your teammates is a purple-haired douchebag.

I was quite surprised at seeing Setsuna’s past. I’m not sure of the exact details but it seems like he was brainwashed (along with other children) by that Ali guy into killing who I assume were his parents. That’s pretty damn sad man. Also, the woman that Setsuna shot called him by what seems to be his real name - Soran. This is yet only a tiny piece of his characters so I’ll be looking forward to seeing more unfold.
This episode also showcased how much tension there is between the Gundam Meisters. Or at least, the one who causes the most of the tension is Tieria. That guy is too arrogant for his own good and couldn’t care less for the lives of innocent people being lost for the sake of their actions. Talk about being a cold bastard. He even managed to get Lockon irritated at his words about terrorism and I don’t think it’s easy to get such a usually cheerful person upset so quickly.
As for Saji and Louise, those two really need to stay inside or something. They’ve already been in how many life-and-death situations? Two so far? They must have some serious luck on their side. Anyways, next week will have Setsuna meeting with Marina. I’m really looking forward to that meeting since the OP sequence indicates that their fates are very deeply intertwined. Not to mention Marina was referred to as Setsuna’s “fateful person”.

I bet Setsuna was the only one to actually shoot his parents. All the other kids shot the floor or ceiling.
ROFL @ Saji and Louise staying inside. God, they’re so useless so far. At least be of use and go be in danger instead of being dead weight.
And seriously, the trap has some major issues. Hopefully if/when they go into his past, we’ll see why he’s the way he is. After seeing this glimpse into Setsuna’s past, I can understand why he’s emotionless for the most part.
I’m interested in seeing how Saji and Louise will have an impact on the story. They have to be important to it in some way after surviving to near-death situations.
Canaries in a coal mine.
