[ Episode 16: The Beginning of the End ]

Good God[dess], I love Miyo so much. Her character is one of the absolutely best that I’ve seen all year. Just seeing her interactions with Irie and constant displays of ironclad resolve makes my heart flutter. I don’t care what anyone says about her actions, she’s just that f*cking awesome to be able to succeed in the [crazy] shit she does. Before this arc she’s succeeded every single time before her will was unrivaled. Though, it might not go as smoothly or as successful this time around since everyone’s resolve and will are going to be just as strong I think. It’s going to be quite entertaining to see how the whole Miyo vs. K1 and co. turns out in the end.

As for the other stuff in this episode, we finally got to see the conflict between the Sonozakis and the Houjous regarding the dam. Good lord, what ever happened to civil behavior? I mean sure people can get pissed but a lot of the guys involved in that conflict sounded like they were about to crap out their hearts at how angry they were, lol. This is also probably the most we’ve seen of Satoshi though I hope we finally get to see what happened to him. Did he really run away? From the way he spoke in this episode about the stress he was experience its a definite possibility. If it’s true then he’s a bastard as well.

Has it been this long since we’ve seen Satoshi? Yes it has. After seeing this episode, I really wonder just what the hell was up with Satoshi. Did he leave because of Satoko, or was it something else? I honestly don’t know, but from that point, Satoshi seemed like an undefining character to me. I mean, compared with Keiichi, he’s not much of a “Nii nii” now is he? The only thing you can say he did successfully was leave his bat behind so that Keiichi would become the next wielder (Oh yes, that’s saying a lot, right?).

The whole family feud is a little baffling as well. These guys are ready to pummel each other to oblivion. Amidst all that the daughters of the families are actually great friends, especially Shion and Satoko’s relationship. I’m a bit skeptical on Hanyuu here. Her presence here was a bit of a depressive state which I presume is because she regrets not doing anything before. Satoko suddenly hears her voice faintly. I wonder how this will go on. Still a few pieces missing and I can hardly wait.
