Enter into Takano Miyo’s past.

Wow. Takano really had a tough life when she was younger. I mean, seriously, she lost her parents and then had to be sent off to some concentration camp for kids. Living in there was pure hell. Those bastards treated the children like, well, shit. Beating them for simple mistakes like spilling food. Who wouldn’t want to escape that kind treatment and the fear of being abused every day? Takano seemed to have managed to run away after biting that one guy’s finger though he probably hit her quite hard after that. Still though, I can understand why the current Takano turned on the way she is. No one person can survive crazy shit like that for long, at least not until they snap. So it’s no wonder why she wants to become a God since she thinks she was robbed of her life and parents by God(s) and destined to suffer in that hell hole of a child care center.

I liked the epilogue that showed her waking up from the bad memories. It shows that she’s still haunted by them for now and probably won’t be once she becomes “a god”. Interestingly enough she just arrived at Hinamizawa so I’m guessing we won’t be seeing anymore flashbacks. Still, I do feel for Takano that she had to end up the way she is now because of her childhood. I suppose there’s no saving her…

Nice episode. I can see just how bloody bad it was for Takano back then. Her father dying in front of her and all that. Her caretaker was no caretaker at all. Just a huge child abuser. I’m assuming no one ever knew about the guy for real because the kids were too frightened to say anything and I don’t blame them. The night of the escape definitely was a risky move on their part. The scene in the rain with Takano screaming was damn brilliant.

Of course, I don’t think this episode was enough to dignify Takano truly. I’m still not liking to her killing everyone last episode, but she has the potential for an awesome character.
