Gundam 00 ep. 2
[ Episode 2: Gundam Meister ]
Setsuna…you’re one weird guy, man.
This episode was yet another entry into the introductory phase of Gundam 00. We’re informed properly of the three powers that exist. They are, of course, the Union (mainly the United States), the AEU, and the HRL (China, Russia, and India). I find it highly interesting how they portray the powers and the ongoing conflicts. Specifically, the creators even used the existing Sri Lanka Civil War as a setting for this episode. I chuckled quite a bit at the reference to the Union President suggesting that Celestial Being wanted to take over their role, that is, interfering in other countries’ disputes for its own self-interest.
The characters are still being introduced as well. We’re shown more on each of the Gundam Meisters, Wang Liu Mei, Sumeragi, and Graham as well. Right now I’m interested in seeing more of the Gundam pilots and their pasts as well as a look at everyone in Celestial Being and how they were established, especially their leader who is hinted at being at least 200 years old. Graham is also an interesting character and it’ll be great to see the battle between him and Setsuna in the next episode. Looks like we’ll finally get to see a real fight but it seems like it’ll be Setsuna’s first in-battle duel outside of simulations. Either way I’m looking forward to it.

If it could be done, someone would have already done it. I mean, a Gundam is pretty damn useless against a suicide bomber. Know what I mean? It’s not even like they’ve got something to offer other than Gundams kicking ass.
I say if they didn’t have the Gundams, they’d be ignored no matter what they say. It remains to be seen if the Gundams can even perform well against a first world military.
Realistically, they’d get their fifteen minutes of fame and be forgotten in a week.
I don’t know why I’m watching this non-UC Gundam. I’ll just be disappointed again. Why the hell do these Gundams always have to be invincible machines?
The Gundam fight was pretty awesome in this episode. I can’t wait till they all get upgraded like half way through the season LOL.
I like how their pilot suits make them look like they are wearing bulky bras.
@Foshi: Invincible? Well in this Gundam they appear to be quite advanced compared to current Mobile Suit technology so it’s only natural that they would be more than dominant on the battlefield.
@Totali: Yeah, we all know it has to happen sooner or later LOL.
@Kabitzin: Bulky bras? I guess it really doesn’t help in Tieria’s case LOL.
