Shakugan no Shana II ep. 2

[ Episode 2: Beginning of Everything ]

Melon-pan…bento?

Yet another enjoyable episode of Shana. I found the first part of it quite hilarious, specifically the scenes involving Shana trying to cook, Carmel training Yuji but not paying attention to her strength, and Carmel herself trying to cook with a bunch of extravagant ingredients. I had to laugh when Shana’s bento turned out to be stuffed with melon bread though. I didn’t see that coming at all, lol. With this episode it seems as if Mare is finally defeated. A pity, since I wanted to see more of her character.

Anyways, the most important things we found out in this episode is that Yuji now has considerably more power than he ever had due to the ritual he went through with Hecate at the end of the first season. We also know that the Reiji Maigo has something called a Keeper around it. I have no idea what that is since it wasn’t explained just yet but that will probably come in due time since Carmel seems to know what it is. Margery also senses that something is about to go down as well. Argh, she needs more screen time! Lastly, a new transfer student just joined Yuji and Shana’s class and she just so happens to look like Hecate. Is it really her? Who knows, but it looks like we’ll be finding out in the next episode.

Oh, and I have to say I agree with Kabitzin on his assessment of Shana being struck in the chest repeatedly by Bel Peol. She’s lucky she’s flat-chested.

You know, in that screenshot of Shana cooking with the wok on fire… it doesn’t actually look that bad. Isn’t that what happens when you have an uber kitchen? I’ve seen that stuff happen on Iron Chef before.

And why would Chigusa need a fire extiguisher? Shouldn’t Shana be able to control flames?

I guess Shana can’t cook and control flames at the same time lol.

Orion confirmed to me that it really is Hecate

Funny…they make it so obvious that we can’t help but doubt it.

This is why no one can accept that Clark Kent is really Superman in disguise.

@Totali: I’m not really that surprised. Even though I still doubted it lol.

@Kabitzin: I can never understand that. I mean, come on, the only difference is that he wears glasses and messes up his hair lol.
