[ Episode 1: The Broom and the Ally of Justice ]

Like, OMG! The Great Kamina is in this show!

LOL! This show was funnier than I expected it to be. I was almost tempted to read the manga a few weeks back but refrained myself from doing so in an effort to leave myself open for surprises and humor I wouldn’t see coming. The characters are great and I especially love Miyako as her sparkling just owns the majority of the other characters and Tamaki is just adorable. There’s just something so cute about her being so tiny and yet so powerful and skillful with a blade in hand. I’m looking forward to seeing the remaining girls who will eventually form the kendo team. It’s also great to see and hear Katsuyuki Konishi as Toraji. He is always so fervent in his work and always manages to get me excited when the characters he plays are passionate about something. Honestly, I was expecting him to pull out a “Who the hell do you think I am” during the episode, LOL.

The animation isn’t the best this season but it is pleasant to the eyes and presents the characters very well. It especially helps in the comedic scenes too. The comedy is golden in my eyes and I can’t wait to see more. One of my favorite scenes would have to be when Tamaki destroyed the different kinds of balls and that crazy guy that were flying towards Toraji and Kirino. Stuff like that just makes me roll with laughter.

The OP was very nice and quite upbeat. All of the seiyuu sounded wonderful and combined with the music had me moving my head around in no time. The sequence itself isn’t much to speak of at the moment since a good portion of it was stuff from the episode itself but it wasn’t shabby at all. Maybe it’ll change next episode or just continue with putting in episode content. The ED is where it is at in my opinion. The sequence, while not groundbreaking, is very cozy but the song is even more amazing. It has an addictive quality to it and the seiyuu all sound more soothing than in the OP song. I’d like to hear the full versions of these as soon as possible!
