One Year Older! One Year Wiser!?
It is on this day one year ago that Kita ze Inbou! was born. Blogging was rather new to me when I first formed this blog with my co-writers (one who retired quite early) but as I look back I can see we’ve come a long way. So, I’d like to take this time to thank all of the readers who stop by whether they choose to comment or not. I know you’ve had to put up with a lot from me but I think I’ve learned from my mistakes. I’d like to thank my co-writers as well because without their help I wouldn’t have been able to come up with such a wonderful name for the blog, among other things. As such, I (and Youko) would like to hear from you, KZI fans, lurkers, readers. What have we done well? What didn’t we do well? What would you like to see more of? Editorials? Manga reviews? News? Analyses? We’d love to hear your thoughts so don’t be shy, drop a comment or two.
As a result of our one year anniversary, a slight face-lift was needed as well. I’d like to thank Youko for his hard work on the brand-new banner and I suppose myself for not being lazy and actually coding the site to change it a bit. There may also be a few more banners later but I have yet to get started on any myself. There will also be a few more improvements on the blog so look out for those too. Also, I’m almost done with my Fall preview which will be just in time for next week. So that’s another thing you can look forward too seeing. I hope and look forward to yet another year of blogging and sharing my thoughts on anime, manga, and all other things related to Nippon. ^__^
Youko here.
It’s been a year now and we’re still going strong! It was a rough start but after going on for so long I think we’ve learned many new things about the blogging community. And what have we learned so far? Well basically, that I was just a lazy ‘tard that didn’t do much. Leon had this (crazy) idea of starting a podcast and blog but then it shifted to being just a blog. Now it was the three of us from the start. Leon, Arch, and I. However, like many music band groups and whatever, there’s always one person that leaves prematurely before we ever got to become a hit. Granted, this place could’ve been a bit better, but it’s already good enough so I don’t have any complaints really.
So how do you guys like the new anniversary banner? Pretty neat right? It’s basically a compilation of all series that continued on in 2007. You may not think Haruhi counts but the Gekisou concert was in March ’07 so I say it counts. Now I’m sure people probably don’t agree with all the characters but this is just my selection so sorry if your favorite character didn’t get on there! Notice how Hollow Ichigo is the only one from a shounen anime? Anyhoo, this is probably my best and favorite banner thus far, with my very first blog banner coming in second. This banner only took me the span of two days to make because it’s really cheap. All I did was use Photoshop, 17 layers of images, and have each image include an outer glow and leveling and embossing. I know, it’s not professional but it’s simple and I like things that are simple to make, and yet look so awesomely complex in the end.
I do hope I contribute more to the blog though. So far, it’s just been some pretty random stuff. I’d say the only real blogging I ever did was the review of the first Shana DVD and the Paprika movie review. Oh, but I do have my impressions on Higurashi Kai posted along with Leon so you can’t say I haven’t done anything much except for polls. Speaking of which, I’m sure you’ve all noticed the new poll. Patti’s winning, as expected. Now, I’m pretty sure most don’t care but still wondered “Why hasn’t Youko blogged anything on an ongoing anime ever?” That’s a good question. Unfortunately I’m leaving that one unanswered. Let’s just say that from this point on, you can expect much more from me. Ganbarimasu!

Personally I have to agree with Kabitzin: I like the episode reviews with the screenshots a lot.
Even though I loved your old banner, the new one is gorgeous too and I’m already drooling on the pictures… where did you get them? Actually I’m particularily interested in the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the El Cazador, the Haruhi, the Getsumen to Heiki Miina and the Hayate no Gotoku pic.
Hey, thanks! It may have only been a span of two days (though the whole work was easily within 24 hours) but I still had fun making it. These images I got are from all over the place while a few are actually cropped from episode screencaps. The El Cazador image is from the manga, the Haruhi image from the Gekisou poster, and Mina from… well I dunno where but I saw it. The image of Nagi is from an art.
Most of them can be found @ Danbooru I believe.

I’m actually a visitor of God knows how many anime blogs, and yes, this blog is one of them. For starters, I don’t just visit any anime blog if I don’t find their anime, as well as their opinions on it, interesting.
