Finally, the DVD of Bleach: Memories of Nobody arrived along with the subsequent fansubs. It took me a while to watch this not because I didn’t want to but because of delays and such. That aside, this movie really touched me when it was all said and done. So I’ll try to talk about everything I felt during and after watching it and weave together my impressions.
Senna’s character was a breath of fresh air to the regular Bleach cast. I’m not sure if there’s anyone I can compare her too but she was quite the fun character to watch come alive on-screen. Seeing as she was the main heroine here a lot of time was spent on her being together with Ichigo which felt so natural. Their time together as well as most of the movie, for me, is reminiscent of the earlier days of Bleach before all of the Soul Society stuff came into play. Growing to love her character so much made it much harder for me to see her sacrifice herself in the end. I know that she had to leave in some way but it was still tough seeing her go. She’s easily a favorite character of mine after seeing this film.
As for the other stuff such as the animation, music, and plot; they were all very well done. The animation, while not spectacular was definitely pleasing to the eyes and a bit better than the current canon episode animation. The music was wonderful and brilliantly used in many places especially with tunes like Number One and the movie theme itself. The plot while well done wasn’t really a favorite of mine since the antagonists didn’t interest me at all and their purpose sounded really lame. At least the fights were done well which of all my favorites were Hitsugaya’s and Kenpachi’s.
So, would I watch this movie again? Most likely just for Senna. I’d recommend it to all Bleach-fans of course but probably not for those who have never seen Bleach. You’ll enjoy this much more if you’re either a anime-watcher, manga-reader or both. You’ll enjoy it even more if you are into interesting and fun girls like Senna.

I finally watched it just yesterday actually, and I agree, splendid movie. It really does remind you of the good ol’ days of Bleach. Nothing like what those Naruto movies were like. I really enjoyed how the captains got involved too. Byakuya came out of nowhere. And I’m so glad they did not use the fucked up version of Number One in the movie.
Senna definitely had uniqueness and spirit written all over her, so I liked her very much. The ending felt a bit ambiguous but nonetheless a very good ending. I mean, really, I commend them for making good use of “Sen no Yoru wo Koete” as it’s one of my favorites from Aqua Timez.
Hoping the next movie is just as good.
Senna = love. That is all.

I completely agree with you about the similarities between this and the earlier stages of Bleach. I really liked it because of that, as I’ve put Bleach on hold while it is in its later stages. The fights were cool too, bringing back some reminiscent memories
of nobodyof Soul Society. I’m somewhat looking forward to the next movie as well.Totally agree. This movie was epically awesome.
