Baccano! ep. 2

[ Episode 2: Ignoring the anxiety of the old woman, the Flying Pussyfoot departs ]
Flying Pussyfoot? Yeah, that one doesn’t need a witty remark.

Isaac and Miria are two of the most hilarious characters in this entire show. This episode was pretty much centered on them as they went from unsuccessfully digging for gold for nine months until they got a letter from Ennis asking them to come visit her in New York. Things kick-off once they arrive at the Flying Pussyfoot and it departs with Ladd, Lua, Jacuzzi, Nice, and Chane boarding, along with some other important characters.
Jacuzzi and Nice are also given a lot of time in this episode. Seriously though, Jacuzzi is one jumpy dude. It’s almost like he has a caffeine factory built-in in his body. I wonder if Nice is his girl though. Their interactions (particularly Nices’) seem to suggest that they’re a couple. They meet Isaac and Miria at the bar and Nice encourages Jacuzzi to become friends with them (she seems to join in after the ice is broken). We also get to see Czeslaw and the girl with him, whose name is Mary and happens to be the daughter of a Senator. It seems like something happened to her since she wasn’t present in the first episode from what I remember.
Now aboard this train are two factions that are out to cause trouble. One is led by Ladd whose goal seems to be to just randomly murder people from his psychobabble from before he got on the train. On a side note, just why is Lua with this guy? He seems to be a total nutcase and she rarely speaks. I guess she probably has some morbid attraction to dangerous and psychotic guys. The other faction who Chane seems to be working for temporarily are hellbent on liberating some guy named Huey. They’re either going to take the train hostage or kill some people. Possibly both. It’s hard to tell what’s going to happen but we know that some serious stuff went down given that we already saw the aftermath in the first episode.
Now the question I have right now is, will most of our main characters be turned immortal while on this train or are some of them already immortal? Czeslaw already confirmed that he is and he felt that someone near him was an immortal one as well. Could it have been Isaac and Miria? Or Jacuzzi and Nice? From the looks of it, Jacuzzi seems to be the one in dire need of immortality if you ask me lol. I’m very interested in seeing more of Chane though. Despite being completely smitten by her I want to know her story and what’s her involvement in all of the things happen in Baccano! The same goes for Firo and the rest of the characters. Also, I’d like to know if Chane is an immortal already or not. I remember seeing her blocking bullets with her knife prior to the series airing and that suggests she probably isn’t or wasn’t at the time. Though I guess despite being an immortal one would want to avoid any pain regardless. Well, unless you’re that crazy-ass Ladd.
