Darker than BLACK ep. 17

[ Episode 17: A Love Song is Sung in a Rubbish Heap... (Part 1) ]
I wonder how much Dolls cost….

Quite the interesting episode. It doesn’t continue the main plot but nonetheless it presents some interesting information. We’re introduced to a new Doll that’s completely emotionless and doesn’t seem to have any memories or even a name. I thought about this before but it does seem like Dolls are treated similar to computers (in the Yin arc it was mentioned that they could “reset” her). She’s going to meet Yin in the next episode so I’m quite interested in seeing what happens during their meeting. We also find out about one of evening primrose’s objectives through Misaki’s screen time, which has to do with them wanting recognition as legal citizens in the eyes of the public and government with rights and powers as well. I’m sure that’s not their only goal and await any more to be revealed.

Hei continues to make me laugh. His acting is flawless but it’s hard to tell at times when he’s truly being a friend to someone like Kenji in this episode. He did talk about him to Mao and Huang and seems to not want to get him involved in their mission. Well, hopefully Kenji makes it through to the end of the arc since he seems to be a pretty decent guy. Maybe Hei will help him survive in some way.
