Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai: Yakusamashi-hen 2

[ Episode 3: Inability ]
The second episode of the Yakusamashi-hen arc and the beginning of what Rika fears she cannot stop yet again.

I expected this episode to be somewhat almost entirely serious but was surprised to see that a good bit of comedy made it in the episode. I did laugh quite a bit at Keiichi’s speech to that baseball kid, I didn’t expect it to go that far at all lol. As for Rika, it’s obvious that she’s really tired of living the same life over and over and being killed all the time. I really think that she should tell her friends about everything. I understand that she doesn’t want to get them involved but she should let that decision be up to them instead. If she can get them to believe then they’d be able to both find out and stop the person who murders her in the majority of the realities. They can probably even help with the person who might go insane this time even though I’m still not sure who that may be. Satoko seems to be the only one available to go into paranoia-mode but I don’t see enough reason for her to do so as yet.
I’m also beginning to wonder when we’ll see a body with the voice Rika was speaking with in this episode. I’m pretty sure that’s Hanyuu (the girl you see with Rika in the OP and ED).

As, Watanagashi draws near, so does the intensity of the atmosphere. We get some insight on the Houjou family and their reputation in the village. Seems the Houjou house was all for the dam project and because of that, their reputation isn’t very pretty, as they seem to be most hated by the villagers. In a particular scene in which Satoko drops her change purse there is what looks to be a fragment of some kind, but what is it?
Of course the eerie vibe withers away for a short while once scene shifts over to the baseball game. Boy does that sound familiar. And Keiichi’s entrance looks familiar too. Nice, DEEN. Of course Keiichi sucked like hell but he had a plan up his ass for Kameda. Apparently this shmoe doesn’t actually love grilled meat but very fancy western-styled desserts that come completely with creamy decorations and color. Oh, but it doesn’t stop there. He fancies them like school girls in miniskirts too. What an odd way of things. But I think the most amazing part is how Keiichi gets him to nosebleed without using a baseball bat.
And back we go as the comical effects are lifted. I think it’s great to hear Ms. Horie Yui’s voice and her conversation with Rika. So Rika is pretty much convinced that her fate can’t be undone but Hanyuu tries to tell her she shouldn’t give in. A happy peaceful world can be given if it works out right? Or would it? In the midst of discussion, Satoko overhears their talk, including the part on Rika’s death. According to her though, it’s too late to do anything now. Looks like the only thing anyone can do is wait for it to happen, which is what we’re doing as well.

What’s the deal with this show? I’ve seen insane laughter and people gutting eachother like fish, yet here it looks like just another loli get together at the ball diamonds.
