Thus begins a complex love triangle.

I wonder why I’m getting KGNE vibes from this so early? Did anyone else find that they started in somewhat similar moods? Meh, maybe I’m thinking too hard about it. Anyways, if you’ve seen any of the promotional material or game scenes floating around the place then you pretty much had an idea from the beginning of how the first episode would progress. I like how they’re not wasting any time like how most romance anime/manga do by having the male lead stall on revealing his feels to his love interest for a painful amount of ‘could’ve, would’ve, should’ve, but didn’t'-type episodes. Makoto got right to the point after meeting Kotonoha (with a lot of help from Sekai) and told her how he felt and she then accepted. Of course we know that Sekai is already hurting inside given how upset she was after boarding the train at the end of the episode. I must say though that the kiss she shared with Makoto was done pretty well. It’s not one of the best examples of the good animation but it’s one nonetheless.

I’m pretty sure almost everyone watching knows about the violent endings of the game and the opinions that Makoto is one of the worst characters in a romance anime. Only time will tell how well any of things will translate into this adaptation though, especially the former topic.

And is it me or is Sekai showing signs of instability already (like with the scene in her bed)? D:
