[ Episode 15: I Will Face Tomorrow]

Will Simon and the Dai Gurren Dan overcome Lordgenome and Teppelin?

This episode nearly left me totally speechless. I don’t know how GAINAX does it but they made an episode that surpasses even the episodes before this. This episode was set up so much like a finale with how Simon defeated the Helix King and then had the OP played at the end of the episode. However, there is still much more story to be revealed. This comes into play with Lordgenome’s revelation of being the guardian of humanity by keeping the population below one million. Needless to say this will be the focus of the next arc because now that Lordgenome is dead there’s no stopping the humans from multiplying way past the one million mark. The question is, what will come from the moon when this happens?

It seems like the story will focus on Simon and Nia for now but I can’t help but wonder where that leaves Yoko. Maybe there will be a chance for her to be placed in the forefront yet again in the future episodes. Viral also seems to have been a storyteller after this episode. Not only was he given a supposed immortal body but he now narrates the episode previews. Does this mean he’ll be an observer until the end or someone get back into the action regardless of which side he takes? Only time will tell I suppose

Next week is a recap episode so the anticipation will only be more maddening for the new arc and the time skip.
