Seirei no Moribito ep. 13

[ Episode 13: Neither Man nor Tiger ]

If you haven’t yet you must watch this episode as soon as possible!

Damn, damn, damn! This episode was just simply awesome! It’s been some time since we’ve seen a fight scene where someone’s life was in danger and this episode managed to answer the call of the fans. We’ve seen just how kind Balsa can be. She’s often calm and collected and can perform the role of an older sister or young mother quite well. This episode, however, shows us for the very first time just how frightening Balsa can be when she’s really angry.

Throughout most of the episode, Balsa is in conflict with some jerk bodyguard from her past. This idiot went so far as to involve innocent bystanders just so that he could try and get his revenge on Balsa. Eventually, after the bodyguard and a hired shooter of his try to annoy Balsa for an entire day, she confronts him. They both enter into an intense battle and as it progresses she gets even angrier than she was before they fight had actually started. When the travelers catch a view of the fight, the teacher manages to see Balsa as an actual tiger (she told a story earlier about a warrior turning into a tiger than had a rather sad ending) but the regular Balsa hurriedly delivers the final slash at the bodyguard and apparently kills him.

Now that’s where things get confusing. She apparently killed him but when the teacher went to check on the guy he was alright. There was no mark on his chest and he even seemed to forget Balsa’s name. I don’t know what she did to this guy but it wasn’t something normal. Either way, I can’t wait for some more plot development in regard to Balsa. She doesn’t seem like one to anger easily but apparently when lives are at stake she goes into full feral mode. Anyways, fans of the show will definitely love this episode to bits. I just can’t wait for more episodes to come so that I can immerse myself into the plot even deeper.

Angry Balsa was quite interesting; it reminded me of when she threw her spear staff at Jin and then clubbed him in the head with a large rock, lol. This time she really put that copycat in his place, especially with the remark about how he wasn’t worth killing since then she’d have to save another person.

I was almost amused that the shooter took one look at the teacher and told her not to strip, and instead to just leave the money =X.

Weird. From the preview, it looks like Balsa already lost guilty conscious of killing that guy. Thought it would at least take a whole episode for her recuperate, but guess it will just end quickly after that stupid kid tells her the truth. Eh… :V

I was thinking that she knew already that she didn’t kill him. But rather just used enough power that probably would have kill him.

Yeah…that doesn’t make much sense does it. :X

I think Balsa knew she didn’t kill him. However, she is probably always worried about going all Battousai on somebody.

I know I saw him getting cut. Well apparently. Say, can you check to see which end she was using when she dealt the finishing blow?

Just checked it (like four times). She definitely hit him with the blade.
