[ Episode 12: The Lonesome Mu ]

Swena needs more airtime!

Man, the timeskips in this series is astounding. Another three years have passed since they arrived on Nazca. This series requires you to have watched from the very beginning and to pay attention each week so as to not get lost along the way. That said, this episode continues with the Nazca arc and opens with a tragic event. An accident at the Shangri-La causes Yui, the first father on Nazca (who I’m sure you should remember from the last episode), to lose his life. This brings a great grief to the Mu people, especially the younger ones.

Meanwhile, Keith meets with Sam and Swena. Sam is still alive, somehow, but is reduced to a child-like state. I guess he was mindwiped by Mother? Swena has changed so much since she last saw Keith. I love the new her because she’s now a strong woman who doesn’t allow herself to be toyed with it seems. I was also right about her being divorced it seems. Well, some no-name guy would’ve only gotten in the way of her development anyways so good riddance. Keith also meets a Mu that managed to hide himself from Mother. His name is Matsura. He must be really damn good to be able to hide from Mother for so long.

Back at Nazca, the young and the elder Mu are in conflict over leaving Nazca and continuing their quest of saving other Mu and searching for Terra. Jomy, of course, is obviously distressed by all of this fighting and is unsure of what to do. I look forward to seeing how Jomy resolves this situation between them but it looks like he won’t have much trouble since Keith is on his way there in the next episode. Depending on what happens in the next episode I suppose it’s possible they could be leaving the planet in episode 14 or so, especially if they’re found out.
