Gurren-Lagann ep. 18

[ Episode 18: I'll Make You Tell the Truth of the World]
With Hot Evil Nia now finished announcing the activation of the Human Extermination System, how will Simon and the others react?
Bleach ep. 135

[ BLEACH #135]
I found this episode a lot more entertaining than the previous one. It’s probably because I got to see Rangiku (by now it should be blatantly obvious that she’s one of my absolute favorite characters) and the comedy was provided by Kon. It was pretty good to see Kon helping Miyuki (who was adorable by the way) to the end and even giving her some encouragement. Overall a good episode that left me feeling pretty good.
Oh yeah. There’s no Bleach next week.

Hmm. What can I say for the opening of this entry? Well, the first thing would be: WATCH THIS MOVIE NOW! It took me a while to watch this wonderful film because of real life issues and time constraints and now that I’ve finally sat down and viewed it I can honestly say that this is one of the best animated movies I’ve laid my eyes on (and I’ve seen a lot). It really does deserve all of the awards and nominations that it received since it was released. The film is a wonderful package of comedy and drama which really should not be missed!

[ Episode 19: Undesired Power ]
This episode has become a favorite of mine. It was a nice closure to the two-episode arc with a good look at Hoshikawa’s past and her getting over her hatred for her powers with assistance from Junki. I find it odd that Junki was able to see Hoshikawa’s past without being in direct contact with her. Though I suppose that may have a lot to do with their close relationship. Anyways, I’m so glad that she came back to the group (not that I didn’t think she would) because I really couldn’t stand that “replacement”. The action wasn’t long in this episode but it was very sweet. I wasn’t expecting the combination of God Wand and God Arrow at all but the results were just simply awesome. Who would have thought it’d create a spread beam?

[ Episode 18: The Scent of Farewell ]
Very good episode. Nothing much on the action side except for a little skirmish near the start of the episode. Most of the episode focused on Hoshikawa and her leaving the White Herons. Ever since I saw the preview I pondered on what made her leave and Junki was thinking the same thing. I really wonder if she thinks her powers can be erased though. The others think it’s total BS and I’m sure Hoshikawa thinks so as well but I suppose there’s something in her past that makes her want to believe that erasing her powers is a reality. By the looks of the preview we’ll be peeking into her past where we’re sure to see exactly why she hates her powers and wants them gone.

[ Episode 4: Deep × Daze ]
Russia’s Gigantic had a really nasty attack in my opinion. Things that damage the mind are almost always greater than anything physically damaging. I think what happened to Mana clearly shows this. I suppose they didn’t show the pilots of the Russian Gigantic as yet for plot reasons. Meaning when they are shown some (or all) of their background will be revealed as well. I was also impressed with how well Shingo did in the battle. Not only was he able to withstand the maximum conformity level but he was able to make the enemy run away. This makes me wonder what Russia and Japan will do in the future even though they are now in a ceasefire.
So far, I’m enjoying seeing how well the plot is being pieced together little by little (like with a peek into Commander Kasumi’s past) and await to see how well it does in the much later episodes.

[ Episode 14: Ayano-chan's Further Disasters ]
Ayano was the hawtness in this episode. She was dressed rather elegantly which is a welcomed departure from her school uniform which she has worn from since…the first episode. Anyways, this episode introduces a new character and a favorite of mine: Katherine. She’s just so awesome and possesses that laugh I love to hear. I can’t wait to see more of her and her abilities. One of the most hilarious parts of the episode occurs a the end though where Kazuma spills some wine on Ayano’s cheek and licks it clean. That was absolutely priceless.

[ Episode 13: Let's Go To the Amusement Park! ]
An all-around fun episode at the…amusement park! The focus here was pretty much Kazuma and Ayano’s date. Yup. The entire mission thing was a hoax just to get those two together. There were some very funny moments. Like when Ayano destroyed a pervert and two overly aggressive idiots. Ayano is just so awesome like that. Oh yes, I can’t forget about the many faces of Ayano in love and blushing. Her friends got her good and even have photo evidence!
Kaze no Stigma ep. 12

[ Episode 12: Confession Under the Moon ]
So Kureha and Kazuma were similar at one point in time. That is, not having the talents of the family they were born into. It was nice to see she gained her natural powers after losing the behemoth’s but still pretty sad that she died trying to fight the thing. The teamwork between Kazuma, Ayano, Ren, and Ayumi was awesome as well. In short, that stupid turtle got owned. The RenxAyumi scene at the end was pretty tearjerking and the ED theme for them was even more emotional. Poor Ren, he lost his first girlfriend in such a way…at least they both got to say they love each other though.
