[ Episode 9: Shuga's Thirst ]

Wait…what was he thirsty for again?

Interesting episode which focused on Shuga. I had wondered when he’d get some focus, especially after the discovery of the water spirit still being active/alive. Also, he did really seem to care about Chagum a great deal so it was only a matter of time before we get to see an in-depth look at his character. I also liked the bit with Balsa and Chagum. Chagum tries to make some friends in this episode but I have to wonder how it’ll carry over into the upcoming episodes.

I was surprised to see him fight against Chagum’s belongings being taken away. Even if the mistakenly knocked down that other star diviner, the action still made an impression on me. Also, Sagum seems to be quite a cool prince and also seemed to be close to Chagum as well when they were children. He has a lot of trust in the court and so took control of Chagum’s belongings that were going to be burned and kept them to give back to Shuga. It’s good to know that Shuga has someone in the courts still supporting his work.

Oh, I really didn’t expect for Tanda and Shuga to bump into each other near the end of the episode. I found their discussion about the drought quite interesting for some reason. It’s probably because of all the possible signs they were discussing that led them to think there would soon be a drought in the near future. Of course, Shuga now thinks for certain that Chagum is alive somewhere. I wonder if he’ll ever manage to find him….
