GARLOCK released! SHIMON! BREAKTHROUGH TO THE HEAVENS!

This. Episode. Was. Awesome. After two episodes of Simon mopping around in the shadows he has finally dug himself out of that rut and grabbed onto his own kind of cool. His self-introduction was very interesting and I thought he did well with his speech. Although he did confuse the hell out of that Big Four goon, Guame lol. Seeing the Giga Drill technique once again was a sight for sore eyes as well. I almost didn’t recognize Simon’s voice when he said “Giga Drill~BREAK!”. It almost sounded like someone else entirely was performing the attack. Anyways, I enjoyed seeing Simon’s comeback as well as Nia not wavering from her resolve and the flashback of Kamina. They were all so well done that I couldn’t help but smile through each one.

Also, what was up with that old guy that saved Nia from being shot? Just who is he? Is he going to be someone important to the story later on or is he just a convenient deus ex machina character? Well, whoever he is, he’s really stealthy in every situation he’s in lol. Now that the Dai Gurren is headed toward the Capital where the Helix King resides we can only expect massive amounts of action when they arrive there and perhaps even before. That is, after next week’s beach episode.
