Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 Coming October 2007!

“It’s a GUNDAM!!”

So, there is a new Gundam coming later this year. Pronounced Gundam “Double O”, this series will be taking place in 2307 AD and so far has four main characters revealed. These four characters are called Gundam Meisters (LOL wut?) and well, obviously, they pilot Gundams. Apparently there’s also a private militia group, called Solestal Beings, whose purpose is to eradicate wars. That sounds interesting…I wonder if Relena Peacecraft from Gundam Wing was inspiration for such a militia? XD

Oh and if it wasn’t apparent in the trailer it looks like this Gundam has a lot of bishies inside of it. I don’t even want to think of what that means for the fanfic/fanart community. >_> I at least hope some decent female characters are in this new series. Oh yeah, for those who don’t know the narrator for the trailer is Tohru Furuya. He’s the voice of Amuro Rei in the original Gundam series. The character designer is supposedly Yun Kouga (she did the character designs for Loveless). That and well, here’s the yet-to-be-confirmed staff list:

Expect Gundam 00 to air October 2007 at the Saturday 6PM timeslot on TBS/MBS. I can’t wait for it to air. ^_^

no, i meant, which series should sunrise focus on.
cause this series seems like itll hold code geass’ production back

…but.

this new gundam series interests me bad! >:]

Well, I hope it doesn’t hold back Geass. At least, I don’t think they’re that careless to half-ass a series that is, in my opinion, one of the best of the year.

Meisters… Are the Gundam-series and the Mai-series trying to have links or what?

So it’s James Bond meets Gundam now. I’m guess these mecha got the ‘license to kill’.

I’d totally have Geass over this though…

The use of the Western calendar is a first for a Gundam series (I think), and that combined with the title “Double O” makes me think that this is somehow supposed to be a precursor to the UC continuity. The only thing is… weren’t Mobile Weapons something that only came about in the couple of decades leading up to the One Year War?

Yup, it’s a first that the series uses AD. I can’t be sure as to where it fits in compared to the UC but I’ll just think of it as independent of all the others for now.

You realize that production of the second series for Code Geass is already finished if not nearly. The same goes for this Gundam show. It is finished in terms of production a good deal before it’s initial air time. ~.~

Meaning, the only competition between the two is for air times.

I’d say partially finished at least. Most current shows on right now, like Gurren Lagann, have production going on as we speak up to episode 21-22 last I checked (it’s a 26-episode series) and even then it’s recording. The production pacing for everyone is different, I’m sure, but yeah I’d say they’ve at least finished a few episodes (3 or so) of both series.

This is of course is just a guess.
