This episode reminds me of why I love this series so much. I’m quite sure that no one saw the death of Waku coming no matter what they say. It was totally unexpected the first time I read it in the manga that I had to go over the chapter multiple times to believe what I was seeing.

Aside from that, I’m glad that Dung Beetle finally joined the cast. This guy is responsible for a good amount of the humor in Bokurano but he can be blunt and come off as uncaring (he probably is…).

One thing I noticed in the episode was that there was a chair missing when compared to the manga. Now I’m not sure whether or not they took it out but it probably will appear later on in the series. Oh and you’ll probably be hearing me bitching about Jun and how much he pisses me off throughout the series too. I’m sorry, but any kind of guy who can abuse and slap his little sister around like that is a certified jackass in my book.

So far I’m liking this adaptation of the manga very much. So much so that it is quite close to my number one favorite of the current season. I just hope that GONZO can continue doing the great job they’ve been doing so far with the pacing. The music is just perfect for the atmosphere of Bokurano and couldn’t be done any better in my opinion.
