[Episode 1: Return of Wind]
[Enjoyment Value: 8/10]
Kazuma, now a wind user, returns to Japan after having been exiled from his family years ago for not being able to control fire. However, after returning he is instantly accused of murdering his former family members…

[Thoughts]
Now that was a pretty solid episode. I’m not exactly sure where the story is going just yet but I like what I’ve seen so far. Kazuma, the male lead, is pretty badass and is a good change from the regular male lead who usually can’t do anything until a few episodes into the series. Ayano is a nice girl from what I’ve observed but she comes off as a little overconfident in her abilities. Though I guess she isn’t to blame since her entire family adopts that cocky attitude and looks down on other clans like the wind clans. I haven’t formed much of an opinion on the other characters yet since I haven’t really seen much of their behavior or they’re just too annoying for me to talk about (like Kazuma’s dad).
The OP and ED were nice but didn’t really stand out when I listened to them. The music in the episode itself was appropriate but nothing really stood out either.
Overall, It’s not the best show of the season but it’s an interesting watch and I can’t help but wonder what direction they’re going to go in with the main characters, particularly Kazuma and Ayano.

a bad ass male lead… damn… i miss these guys^^
Same here tactics, its been like quite a while where a show has the badass protagonist, and this blog is cool not to compare this show to Shakugan no Shana, i mean i loved that show, but come one, people hated kaze no stigma cuz ayano doesnt compare to shana, dam those lolis, wont even look at the show properly without comparing to others , for shame…, i mean the male lead here is far more better than that lame male lead in shakugan no shana.
Indeed this show should stop being compared to SnS. Goddamn, the only similarity is that there is a girl with a flaming sword; after that the comparisons should stop.
Kazuma is one of the best male leads I’ve seen in anime lately. His mouth runs wild with arrogance sure, but he’s got all the skillz needed to back up his talk. Not to mention he’s just badass in the general sense of the word and has definite GAR potential. My new hero.
Ayano…comes across as an annoying girl that I love to hate. Well that’ll change in the future probably, but she fails my first impression test. =D
I liked this anime. Kazuma is great. And this show isn’t similar to SnS at all. Ayano looks similar to Shana, but that’s it. Besides, that’s only the first impression too. Ayano’s not so cool in fights.
If anything, Ayano needs to learn to calm the hell down. She jumps to conclusions too fast.
