[Super Condensed Summary]

Hayate awakens at Nagi’s mansion and immediately gets into his job as a butler after devoting himself to her safety. Displaying his superhuman cleaning abilities to Maria, she’s speechless to how clean the mansion is down to the very last detail. Hayate eventually comes across Nagi’s study and picks up her manga which he calls a “picture diary” in front of her which prompts her to get angry and throw him out of her room. He mistakes this for being thrown out of the mansion and is immediately taken by the loansharks from the first episode. Later, Nagi appears on the docks where Hayate was taken as a hero named Mask the Money. She saves him from his debt by paying it in full and the episode closes with the two in an argument about how the money would be treated (as a gift or loan).

[Thoughts]

This episode was even funnier than last week’s. Hayate is quickly becoming one of the most hilarious shows I’ve ever laid my eyes upon. I can’t even compare this to the manga anymore since it has its own charm. When you have the show about to end only 5 to 10 minutes in and the characters are like “Hold on dammit! The show isn’t over yet!”, then you you’re going to laugh your lungs sore. For one, I couldn’t stop laughing at the purposely bleeped on Gundam references. The Black Lagoon, Conan, and One Piece references were absolutely hilarious as well and a nice anime-only addition. Now I’m beginning to wonder what else they’re going to parody as the series moves along. As for the performances this week, I melted at the sound of Tanaka Rie’s voice yet again as she portrayed Maria’s character so wonderfully in all the scenes she appeared in.
