Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Ep. 2

Series Information

OP: [0:00AM] by ACID
ED: [Hanafubugi] by ACID

[Night 2: The Dark Law Chapter]

[Enjoyment Value: 9.7/10]

First off, the OP was just plain awesome. The song, the animation, and all the visual effects that were used. I did raise an eyebrow when I first heard the words “Time to die!” though and thought “Oh god, not another retarded metal song”. I’m glad that impression was instantly blown away though. This entry, as well as the others for this series is late because I didn’t feel like rushing through the episodes and posting up brief thoughts and such so I waited until I could sit down without interruptions to watch them. But enough of that unimportant blurb and on with the show. TMGK still remains as awesome as it was in its first episode and thankfully things like the animation and music haven’t fallen victim to a low budget as yet.

[Thoughts]

I wasn’t expecting this episode to take place before the previous one. So I suppose that this is the real first episode of the series since it introduces all of the characters properly. This episode also displayed the fluid fighting animation once again with Tatsuma, Kyouichi, and Yuuya having battles take place. Komaki (god I love this girl) and Aoi are back too and though they really don’t fight as much as the guys this time around (Komaki does score a hit off the monster near the end of the episode and Aoi uses her protective barrier) they were looking as beautiful and awesome as ever. Oh, and Toono was busy (or up to mischief) getting her BIG SCOOPO!

Later on in the episode though, after a fight between Tatsuma and Yuuya is stopped by Aoi and Komachi some serious things go down when a monster attacks them all. From what I gathered either the group attained their powers here or they were awakened there. Though from what was happening throughout the episode, especially at the beginning when everyone in the group felt Tatsuma arrive, it seems like they had some sort of power prior to the events at the end of the episode. So, I’d go with the latter assumption of their powers being awakened.

I have so many reasons as to why I love this show that I can’t even put them all into words. Komaki, Aoi, Maria and Toono are definite reasons. The kickass action scenes are topnotch and always a joy to watch unfold. The music is just so involving that I can’t help but be pulled in. The guys, especially Tatsuma don’t come off as chumps or “allies of justice” as do most other main characters in other shounen titles. As a result of all these things and more, I hope that this show is a 26-episode series. If not then the experience will be over much too fast but even if that’s the case I won’t complain.
