Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Verdict: 9.5/10

Impressions:

New standards, in my opinion, are set with this episode. The action is already starting to heat up beyond scorching levels and the new background music, especially the Arrancar theme, fits perfectly with each and every scene in the episode. Oh and we get a load of goodies and surprises (for those who don’t read the manga) in this episode. Rukia reveals her zanpakutou, Sode no Shirayuki, and her shikai that utterly destroys the 16th Arrancar, D-Roy. We’re treated to examples of just how powerful the Arrancar are with Shiro’s match-up as well as Ikkaku’s match-up. Their speed is insane and the strength of their skin so strong that they can deflect a direct attack from a zanpakuto without leaving a scratch.

Extreme fanboy speaking, I loved the way Matsumoto looked in this episode. Even though she wasn’t her usual bouncy self, her battle expressions are unrivaled compared to all the other (current) females in Bleach. She’s going to have her hands full in the next few episodes, as are the others. A battle that should be awesome though is the upcoming Ikkaku fight. Next episode strongly hints at his fight with the Arrancar he’s facing and I’m sure a lot of non-manga watchers are going to be surprised by him. Can you say Show ▼
