Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

This episode brought a close to the Martel arc. It was a really sad ending I must say and I ended up crying just as much as I did when I read the manga chapter.

Allen gets an upgrade to his anti-Akuma weapon after seeing Lala and Guzoru get skewered by the Akuma. Great fight scenes follow, with Kanda even giving Allen a hand in finishing off the Akuma with a combination of massively damaging attacks.

The episode then goes on to a very sad point, having Lala sing until the very second Guzoru died. When he did she finally stopped and broke, after three days and three nights. Allen is saddened deeply over their deaths and vows to himself that he wants to become a destroyer who can save people.

I was deeply moved and saddened during this episode and even now I’m fighting back tears. It was excellently done and was faithful to the manga’s feel. This is one of the best episodes by far.

Next episode brings what seems to be a reworked version of the second manga chapter. I’m glad they did skip it and definitely am looking forward to seeing what they’ve done with the material.
