Kita ze Inbou! - キタぜ陰謀!

Riku Aoba is a transfer student at Tsumugino Private High School who, on his first day, seems to have already been thrown into a whirlwind of acceptance and love.

The episode opens with Aoba being chased around by a mob of guys after the cat ears on his head (red: nekomimi). Next, we’re inside of the principal’s office where he is being lectured on the school itself and the available by the chairlady (a very busty one at that). He’s led to his classroom by his homeroom teacher after the lecture where he introduces himself and meets the mysterious school beauty, Sayuri. Aoba is chased even more as the episode progresses and eventually befriends two guys in his class. He also meets Chick-kun, who seems to be the school’s pet or mascot. During his flashbacks of the day we’re introduced to some of the other heroines of the show, of those named are Tsukasa and Mina. Aoba eventually tires and rests under a tree where he meets with Sayuri who now holds his cat ears. The whole point of the “game” was to deliver those cat ears to Sayuri in order to obtain her top-secret email address which supposedly only the Student Council knows about. The episode proceeds to end with the Student Council President, Sakurai, being chased around by the males of the school for “angering” Sayuri after she leaves, stating that she holds no obligation to tell Aoba her email address because she wasn’t involved in the game at all.

This one of those shows that manage to take me off guard from time to time. I ventured into this with only minimal knowledge of the videogames on hand (I think I may have played the Super Famicom versions) and was pleasantly surprised by how funny it turned out to be. The character designs are nothing to scream about but I like the appearance of the main girls, especially Tsukasa. The opening and ending themes are nice as is the usual for a comedy/romance series like this.

Overall, it was a pretty decent first episode and I’ll definitely be watching as well as blogging this from now on. On the preview side of things, it seems as if Tsukasa will take the stage in episode 2!
