Internet Neutrality
This is one thing that pisses me off(if I ever do) the most. Its that no local news station or newspaper(from the ones that I’ve seen) ever report on this, not even msn. The internet is a very large influence on many people. Basically to the point where it is starting to become a common everyday utility. Most people I know don’t really check news on the internet.
This article discusses a very important possible future that would change how much you could end up paying for internet useage. My response is “WTF,” as soon as the mass population that uses the internet sees this, you would think people would want the internet to remain a ‘neutrally’ regulated service. This page basically tells how AT&T(who, by the way is practically the same size as it was when they were accused of a monopoly) could and probably would end up charging you for using voip(Skype, teamspeak, ventrilo ect) or video streams(break.com, youtube, ect). They could do this by monitoring the type of packets going through your bandwith. I can see the music industry supporting this to a degree. This kind of thing would distract a lot of people from many things, peer-to-peer being one of them. So instead of paying 60$ per month for 1.5 mbit line you end up paying oh, lets say, 120$ for a 1.5 service. It all depends on how badly you want these “services.” Yeah, horrible, what a first post.
